Introducing Adaptive Steering

Ana now has Adaptive Steering — available in Claude Opus 4.8.

When you send Ana a query, she starts reasoning through it immediately. Adaptive Steering lets you interrupt that process in real time by simply sending a new message. Ana drops what she was working on and pivots to your updated request instead.

Opus 4.8 gives Ana the ability to monitor incoming messages while reasoning, so your follow-up lands as a true redirect, not just the next item in a queue.

It's a small change that makes working with Ana feel a lot more like a real conversation. You can turn it on or off anytime in your personal settings.

Adaptive Steering is available today for all users on Claude Opus 4.8.
