Most analytics tools treat the data lake as a second-class citizen. They're built around warehouses: structured, centralized, expensive to load data into. Dremio takes the opposite approach: leave the data where it is, in open formats on storage you already own, and make it queryable directly. No pipelines, no copies, no vendor controlling your compute costs.
The result is a fast, flexible query layer that data engineering teams love. The problem is it's still a query layer. Someone still has to write the SQL.
Ana changes that. Ask a question in plain English and Ana handles the rest: writing the query, running it against your Dremio instance, and returning an answer. The lake stays exactly where it is. The people who need answers from it no longer need to wait.
How It Works
Setup takes a few minutes. Point Ana at your Dremio instance, choose which parts of your data you want it to work with, and you're done. Ana reads your schema automatically, learns what's there, and starts answering questions. No data moves, no pipelines change, no additional engineering work required.
What Ana Handles For You
Finding the right data. Dremio organizes data into spaces, think of them as namespaces that can nest inside each other. Ana navigates that structure automatically. You can tell it to focus on specific areas, or let it discover everything your account can access. Either way, you don't have to think about where things live.
Asking questions, not writing queries. Once connected, Ana translates plain English questions into SQL and runs them against your Dremio instance. You get answers, charts, and reports back directly. No query editor, no waiting on an analyst.
Connecting securely. You authenticate with a personal access token or your existing credentials. Ana stores them encrypted and never shares them. Works the same whether you're on Dremio Cloud or running your own deployment.
Who This Is For
Teams that built a lakehouse to get analytics without warehouse overhead now have the last piece. The engineers who set it up can already query it. Now everyone else can too: the business analysts, the ops team, the finance lead who needs a number before the board meeting. Same data, same performance, no SQL required.
