TextQL builds autonomous AI data analyst agents for the enterprise. We deploy AI agents that handle messy, complex data workloads at scale — replacing weeks of analyst work with minutes of agent execution. The Role

We're growing our Solutions Engineering team and looking for Lead SEs who can operate across the full customer lifecycle — from technical sale through post-sales implementation. You'll run demos and close deals, then stick around to make sure customers are successfully deployed and getting value.

This is not a hand-off role. Most SE orgs split pre-sales and post-sales into separate functions — we don't. You own the customer relationship from first demo to production deployment. One day you're building a custom POC for a Fortune 500 healthcare system, the next you're on-site configuring data connectors. We need SEs who can sell and ship, not just present slides.

What You'll Do

  • Own the technical sale: Run product demos, build custom POCs, answer security questionnaires, and do whatever it takes to get deals across the line.
  • Lead post-sales implementation: Own customer deployments end-to-end — architecture reviews, ontology setup, data connector configuration, and go-live support.
  • Partner with AEs: Be the technical half of the deal team on our largest opportunities.
  • Build credibility with technical buyers: Speak fluently about data infrastructure, warehouses, BI tools, and how TextQL fits into existing stacks.
  • Shape the function: Define playbooks, demo environments, implementation runbooks, and processes that scale as we grow the team.
  • Close deals: You have a number, and you'll be compensated accordingly when you hit it.

What Success Looks Like

  • Within 90 days, you'll have run your first deals end-to-end — from technical discovery through closed-won — and completed at least one customer deployment to production
  • Within 6 months, you'll have built repeatable demo environments, implementation playbooks, and processes that the next SE hire can pick up on day one
  • Within a year, you'll have a track record of deals closed and customers successfully deployed — and you'll be leading the SE team you helped build

About You

  • 7+ years of experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical sales roles
  • Sales-first mindset: You understand pipeline, forecasting, and what it takes to win competitive deals. You've carried quota or been directly tied to revenue outcomes.
  • Implementation experience: You've led or been deeply involved in post-sales technical deployments — you know how to get a customer from signed contract to live in production.
  • Leadership experience: You've led or mentored a team of SEs before. You know what good looks like and can help us build it.
  • Technical credibility: You can navigate conversations about data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery), SQL, and analytics infrastructure. You don't need to be a developer, but you need to hold your own with technical buyers.
  • In-person in NYC: We work 5 days/week in our FIDI office. We will make WFH exceptions for the right people.

What This Role Is Not

A pre-sales-only role where you hand off after the contract is signed. You own the customer from first demo to production deployment. A pure consulting gig. You're here to close deals and drive revenue, not write SOWs. A comfortable seat on a big team. You'll be building the SE function, not joining one.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling into healthcare (health systems, payers, pharma)
  • Experience in financial services (asset management, banking, insurance)
  • Background in data infrastructure, BI, or analytics tooling
  • Comfort with ambiguity and building processes from scratch

Our Commitment To You

  • Tradeoff: We choose wins over process. You'll be in deals before the playbook exists because we'd rather close revenue than wait for perfect documentation. If that sounds chaotic, this isn't the right fit. If that sounds like Tuesday, we should talk.
  • Why This Matters: TextQL is at an inflection point. We have product-market fit, enterprise customers who love us, and a sales motion that's working. What we don't have is a scaled SE function that can keep up with demand. You'd be the person who builds it. Not buried in a 20-person SE org running the same demo script — defining how TextQL gets sold and deployed from the ground up. When TextQL is 5x the size it is today, you'll be the one who built the foundation.

  • Total Compensation: $305K ($175K base + $60K OTE + $70K equity)
