Does Ana read Looker Studio chart values?

The Looker Studio API primarily exposes report metadata and asset information rather than chart cell values. For actual data points, Ana queries the underlying data sources directly, which typically live in your warehouse or another connected system.

How is the Google OAuth token handled?

The refresh token is encrypted in TextQL's credential vault and injected into outbound requests at the network layer. Ana's Python sandbox only sees helper functions, never the raw token. Token refresh happens transparently outside the sandbox.

Can I limit Ana to specific reports?

Yes. Looker Studio's sharing model means Ana can only access reports the authenticated user has been granted access to. Admins can further narrow the OAuth scopes during setup to restrict the overall surface area of what Ana can see.

Does Ana honor Google Workspace policies?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Because the connector authenticates via Google OAuth, any Workspace admin policies including 2FA, session duration, and external sharing restrictions apply automatically. You do not need to configure these separately in TextQL.

Is this the same as Looker?

No. Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio) is Google's free BI tool, while Looker is the enterprise BI platform. They are separate products with separate APIs. TextQL provides a distinct connector for each so you can use whichever — or both — fits your stack.
